ARTISTIC MANIFESTO
Sculpting Time with Light & Tension
Born and based in Golaghat, nestled along the historic tea country and riverine wetlands of the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam, Debashish Bhuyan dedicates his practice to monumental photographic studies of human silence, architectural form, and living terrain.
His practice synthesizes the structural rigor of modernist architecture with the intimate documentary truth of Assamese cultural heritage, sacred monsoon mists, and haute editorial craft. Rejecting transient algorithmic trends, his works rely on deliberate medium-format optical engineering, extreme dynamic range, and tangible archival silver gelatin prints.
"A photograph is not an index of what was in front of the lens. It is an indictment of time itself, halting entropy for a 1/800th of a second amidst the rising Brahmaputra mist."
